Version History
Open History using the
icon in the main menu. Version History is its Versions tab.
Version History lists every saved version of your app, newest first. Use it to see what changed, who changed it, and when, or to put your app back the way it was before something went wrong. Nothing is lost when you restore: the versions after it stay in your history.
Browse versions
Section titled “Browse versions”The left side of the page is a timeline of versions grouped by day. Each version shows:
- a short description of the change
- who made it, such as you, a teammate, or the agent
- when it was made
- how many files changed
Versions that bring back an earlier state are labeled Restored. Runs of small automatic saves are grouped under a line such as 3 auto-saves. Select it to expand the group.
Type in Search versions… to filter the timeline by description, author, or commit ID. The timeline loads recent versions first. Select Load older versions at the bottom to see more.
See what changed
Section titled “See what changed”Select a version to see its details on the right:
- the number of files changed, with lines added and removed
- each changed file, marked as added, modified, deleted, or renamed. Select a file to see its line-by-line changes.
- Git details, which shows the commit ID with Copy full hash, the full commit message, and the author. This is handy if you also work with your app’s code in Git.
Restore a version
Section titled “Restore a version”- Save or discard any unsaved changes first. You can’t restore while your app has unsaved changes.
- Select the version you want to go back to.
- Select Restore this version.
- Review the confirmation, then select Restore version.
Your app is set back to exactly how it was at that version. The restore is added as a new version at the top of your history, so every later version is kept and you can go back to it the same way.
Members with the Editor role or higher can restore versions.
To keep a downloadable copy of your code as well, see Backups.
